Want To Find Your Gifts & Talents?
Discover What You Are Good At
"Okay ... Now that you are relaxed and serious about finding your gifts and talents ... It is time to talk about taking notes. Good notes."
Somehow I wondered if I was going back to school. It had been a while since I had taken notes.
"Relax," said Star. "This is nothing to get excited or anxious about. Reporter's take notes all the time. It helps us keep on track, keep focused on our goal, and remember the facts so we get them right. Memory can be a tricky thing ... so notes help keep us honest."
I nodded in agreement. I remember the reporters for the school newspaper always having a notebook handy and jotting down the things people said.
"This is exactly the same, only I want you to take note, as well as notes, about the things you will be discovering about yourself, your gifts and your talents. So the thing to do is decide where you are going to put the ideas you come up with.
"Personally, I like the idea of a self discovery journal. Finding a great notebook that inspires you and makes you excited to capture your thoughts down on paper. But you can use any method you like. Some people like to use multi-colored posit notes ... others just a few blank sheets of paper. I even had a musician use sheets of music to capture ideas ..."
"It doesn't have to be fancy ... just inspiring and effective for you. No one else has to see it, including me."
I smiled at that. I wasn't so sure she wouldn't peek. Reporters are nosy, after all.
"Okay. So what do I write about?" I asked, not sure where this was going.
Star walked over to a file cabinet and looked through some folders until she pulled out a small booklet.
"I thought you might need something to get you started, so you can use this old copy I have of a eworkbook called Find YOur Gifts & Talents ... its in pdf format so you will need to have Abode to read it. But you can get that here ...
